When the ACP 2424 is installed, absolutely no moisture can get to the ceiling grid or ceiling tiles from the HVAC grill. The skirt that drops below the ceiling also deflects the air away from the ceiling tiles helping keep the ceilings clean from dirt and dust. The anti-trap bars located around the ACP 2424 keep any moisture from being trapped above the ceiling and prevents any difference in temperature from being transferred between the HVAC grill and the ceiling grid.
When installing the ACP 2424, be sure to snap the corners down one at a time. Install the HVAC grill back down inside the ACP 2424. Notice the ACP 2424 is hard to see when installed.
Without the ACP 2424 the air flows horizontally straight across the ceiling, causing dirt and dust to adhere to the tiles around the A/C diffuser. With the ACP 2424 installed the air flow is deflected away from the tiles on an angle of 12 to 14 degrees, creating an air dam, helping to keep your ceilings clean.
You can take temperature readings at 2 ft. intervals across the room before the installation of ACP 2424's and then again after the installation. There will be no changes in temperatures.
We exaggerate the condition that causes wet ceiling tiles and rusty grid to prove absolutely no moisture can reach the tiles or grid. Normally, condensation forms on the boot above the HVAC grill one drop at a time like sweat on your forehead and runs down to the grid and soaks into the tiles causing rusty grid and dark ugly spots on the bottom of the tiles.
If we can dispense a 16 oz. container of water over the boot above the HVAC grill in less than 15 seconds and no water reaches the tile or grid, there is absolutely no way the tiles or grid will ever get wet from the daily condensation that can form on the boot above the HVAC grill, water cannot flow horizontally through a solid plastic wall. This is proof positive that our Acoustical Ceiling Protector ACP 2424 works (Try our test yourself.)
